Dear families,

Thank you for another great week. Our students have quickly settled into the routines of school and are demonstrating S.T.I.N.G. (speak with purpose, teamwork, integrity, never give up, and gratitude) with their interactions with their peers and teachers.

Thank you to our families for participating in our meet the teacher night. It was great to see our students sharing their school with their families!

We have great parents! A huge shout out to our parents for standing behind the yellow lines when the students are lining up to ensure our students are visible. We know it is hard to say goodbye in the morning, but we cannot thank you enough for your support to keep all students safe!

Sincerely,

Andrea Michelutti – Principal

New Entry and Exit Procedures

We have over 700 students entering the school building, and we need to revisit our entry and exit procedures. I know this change may be challenging, but it is necessary to ensure all students are safe. Teachers will be reviewing the new process with their students on Friday, September 15. As a school, we will be reviewing this procedure over the next few weeks to determine if additional changes are needed.

Planners

Parents with students in Grade 1 through 5 and 6B are reminded to pay for planners on School-Day. Less than 50% of our families have paid for the planners at this time. Next week, we will be sending reminders through the planner to submit the payment if we are still waiting for payment for the planner.  If you are unable to purchase the planner at this time, please contact the office to make arrangements.

Professional Day – Friday, September 22

There will be a Professional Activities Day (P.A. Day) on Friday, September 22. The school will be closed for students. The staff will be working on school culture and safety.

Safety Drills

Over the next few weeks, we will be conducting several fire drills and a shelter in place drill. The classroom teachers will review procedures with the students to ensure we keep all of our students and staff safe. In an actual emergency, we would contact parents through School-Day, our website, and Twitter.

School Council

Our first School Council meeting will be taking place on Wednesday, September 27 at 6:00 p.m. in the library. All parents are encouraged to attend. Please contact Andrea Michelutti if you have any questions.
