Dear families,

A huge congratulations to our intermediate boys’ volleyball team! They won the county championship this week when they played against Sir Adam Beck Public School in the finals. The officials and the other school’s principal commented on our students’ respectful behaviour and the strong commitment to sportsmanship. A special thank you to our coaches: Mrs Wiens and Mrs Tilt for inspiring our students to play their best! This is the third championship for our school in the past two school years!

I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that there are students and staff in our school who have anaphylactic reactions to specific foods or items. These include, but are not limited to, tree nuts, peanuts, seafood, eggs, and latex. These allergies are potentially life-threatening. As such, we prohibit bringing nuts into the school. We also ask that balloons be kept at home as we have a staff member with a severe latex allergy. Thank you for promoting a safe, caring and inclusive school environment.

I would like to thank our parents for their continued support of the school. I am fortunate to be at such an amazing school with fantastic students and staff members.

Andrea Michelutti, Principal

Winter Wonderland Concert

Students in Grades 1 to 6 have been hard at work practising a song, dance, and skit to perform for the school during our Winter Wonderland Concert taking place on Wednesday, December 19. There will be 2 shows: The first show begins at 9:00 a.m. and the second show begins at 11:40 a.m. Every act will be performing in both concerts; please choose one showtime that works best for you to attend.

Indoor Shoes

Thank you to the families who have already sent in a pair of indoor shoes. If you haven’t done so yet, please send a pair of running shoes with your child this week. Proper shoes are required for gym class and indoor shoes keep the classrooms and school clean.

Super Seasonal Sale

The Super Seasonal sale will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018. It’s a perfect way for kids to go shopping for presents they want to give to their families and friends!

We are in desperate need of items to be sold. We will continue to accept items until Wednesday. We are seeking gently used toys and household items (e.g., books, toys, stuffed animals, baby toys, candles, purses, bags, ties, movies, serving platters, video games rated C or E,). We are also asking for wrapping paper, lots of gift bags, tape, ribbons, bows, and name tags.

Students will shop for gifts for family members and be proud to bring home a wrapped gift which they picked out! Items will be priced from $0.25 to $3. It’s a fun day! All proceeds will go to Sunbeam Lodge, a place in our community that supports children with medical issues. All leftover items will be donated to a local second-hand store.
