Dear Families,

The weather is warming up from the deep freeze over the last few weeks, and spring is on the way.  This Sunday, March 10 is the start of Daylight Savings time. The clocks spring ahead one hour.

Today many of our students acknowledge International Women’s Day by talking about important accomplishments over the past few decades. One of our kindergarten students, Aleksandar in K3 started the day by thanking the incredible women in our school and school community today.

Next week is March Break.  The school will reopen for students on Monday, March 18. Have a great time with family and friends!

Kindly,

Andrea Michelutti, Principal

Spring Safety

With the warming trend, our rivers and small bodies of water will start to flow again.  During the spring parents and students need to think about being safe near water. Many waterways become swollen and fast-flowing during the spring months.  We encourage everyone to stay safe. Please visit the Grand River Conservation Authority for safety tips.

Yearbooks

It’s that time of the year again – yearbook sales! A reminder to parents and students that yearbook sales run from Monday, March 18 through March 31. Our awesome yearbooks will be on sale for $25, with some add-ons available (e.g., hardcover +$6, custom names +$5, and Zoom insert +$2).  Books will be delivered and handed out in mid-June. Last year we sold over 300 yearbooks and we hope to sell even more this year.

Spotlight:

This week we are proud to highlight two of our students, Bill and Anthony Vu.  The boys will be performing a piano recital at the Kitchener Central Library this Sunday, March 10. Along with their older brother, Vincent, the boys will be presenting the music of Bach, Rameau, Beethoven, Chopin, Schubert, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Moszkowsky, Gretchaninoff, Bartok, Copland and more.  You are invited to support these very talented young people by attending their performance.
