Hello Parents/Guardians,

Here are this week’s updates:

Principal Message:

I encourage families to follow Jean Steckle on Twitter and Instagram (@JSTwrdsb). This allows parents and extended family members to see the great learning taking place at Jean Steckle. The office is continuing to experience a high number of lates daily. We expect students to be on time as learning begins prompt at the bell. If you are having challenges with your child being late, please contact me at the school.

School Day Update:
We are pleased to share that 249 students are signed up for School Day. The first 400 students who sign up for School Day will receive a freezie in May and the first 5 classes with a 100% participation rate will receive an ice cream sandwich. Please encourage your family and friends to sign up for School Day.

School Council Update:
The Paradise Greenhouses gift card order forms are due on May 5. Colour Paradise will give 20% back to Jean Steckle P.S. Thank you again for your support.

May 12 – Kindergarten information night from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
May 13 – Grade 4 to Grade 8 Track and Field (weather pending)
May 13 – Hot dog day
May 16 – Author Janet Wilson assembly for Grades 1 to 8
May 17 – Grade 7 Hep B Immunization #2, Grade 8 Hep B Immunization #3, and School Council at 6:00 p.m.
May 20 – Terry Fox run
May 23 – Victoria Day (the school will be closed for students)
May 25 – Divisional Track and Field Meet for Grade 7 and 8 students
May 26 – Arts Night (BBQ from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; School open from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.)
May 31 – Grade 8 High School Visits
June 2 – Family Fun Night
June 3 – Professional Activity Day (the school will be closed for students)
