Dear families,

A huge thank you to families for supporting our Terry Fox run. We are grateful we live in a community where we are supportive of others.

I would like to extend a shout out to our students for a great fire drill. The students’ exited the building quietly and quickly. We will have a few more fire drills this fall.

A special thank you to our families for supporting the Fresh from the Farm fundraiser. We will be using the proceeds from this fundraising will improve our school yard.

I would like to wish our families a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Looking forward to seeing all of our students back on Tuesday.

Sincerely,

Andrea Michelutti – Principal

Indoor Shoes

Thank you to the families who have already sent in a pair of indoor shoes. We still have quite a few students without proper indoor shoes. Please send a pair of running shoes (we encourage velcro shoes for our primary students) with your child next week. Students are required to wear running shoes for gym class, and these running shoes or indoor shoes help keep the classrooms and school clean.

Pizza orders have been extended

School Council has chosen to reopen Pizza Day from Wed. Oct. 4 until Thurs. Oct. 12. This is for parents who missed ordering or would like to increase their current order. Forms can be found on school day by clicking on School Items then School Files (Pizza Form). The forms will also be available in the office and CASH ONLY PAYMENTS will be required with the forms.

Beyond this, there will be no further exceptions. This extension is a one time opportunity and WILL NOT be offered with further pizza days.

Please make sure to check school day for future announcements. Next pizza order will open Dec. 8th, please mark your calendar.

Police Vulnerable Sector Checks for Volunteers

To align with board policy, volunteers at the school will require a Police Vulnerable Sector Check. We are asking that parents and family members who are interesting in volunteering in the school, in classrooms, or on field trips have this check completed. Please send in your police check as soon as possible as parents will need to have this form in the school before they can attend field trips.

Volunteer Survey

If you are available to volunteer at the school, please fill out the survey https://goo.gl/forms/YglQhhMdzUYNW1ms2. We would love to have parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, or community members volunteer in our great school.

Lunch Lady

We are offering Lunch Lady options for Friday during the first nutrition break. If you would like to order, please visit http://thelunchlady.ca/.

Strong Start volunteers needed

We are looking for volunteers for our Strong Start reading program. If you have an extra 30 minutes a week and would like to help a young student enjoy the love of reading, please email jennifer_evans@wrdsb.ca.
