October 27th, 2017
Dear families,
On October 31, students who are participating in Halloween may wear their costumes or Black and Orange to school first thing in the morning. The primary and junior students will participate in a parade with our older students cheering them on. For the students who are not participating, we will be provided alternative programs in the library. We remind families that masks and toy weapons are not allowed at school. We also encourage accessories to be left at home as they are often forgotten at school.
Thank you for another great week!
Sincerely,
Andrea Michelutti – Principal

Pumpkin Patrol
Once again this year, the Pumpkin Patrol will be patrolling your school and community during the nights of Saturday, October 28, Sunday, October 29, Monday, October 30 and Tuesday, October 31, 2017. During these four nights, the Pumpkin Patrol will randomly visit the Waterloo Region District School Board facilities as well as be a watchful eye for any problems that may occur while the children are out “trick-or-treating.” Staff has experienced a reduction in vandalism at Board facilities as a result of this program. The program acts as a deterrent in decreasing a number of activities, damage to the schools and helps ensure increased safety to our children who may be out on the fun-filled evenings.
Police Vulnerable Sector Checks for Volunteers
To align with board policy, volunteers at the school will require a Police Vulnerable Sector Check. We are asking that parents and family members who are interesting in volunteering in the school, in classrooms, or on field trips have this check completed. Please send in your police check as soon as possible as parents will need to have this form in the school before they can attend field trips.
Volunteer Survey
If you are available to volunteer at the school, please fill out the survey https://goo.gl/forms/YglQhhMdzUYNW1ms2. We would love to have parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, or community members volunteer in our great school.
