Dear families,
It was a busy week at Jean Steckle. We practiced our hold and secure drill on Wednesday and our students did a great job! On Thursday, our students participated in the annual bus safety drill. I am thankful for the great work from our staff and our students when it comes to practicing our drills.
Thank you, Megan Smith and our pizza team for their great work in delivering pizza to our students on Mondays. Just a reminder that the next order opens on School-Day on December 1.

Candy grams
The members of our student council will be sending Candy grams again this holiday season. Candy grams are 50 cents. Students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 will receive an order form the week of December 4. Students in Grade 4 to Grade 8 can purchase their candy grams the week of December 11. The candy grams will be delivered on December 21.
Family Fun Night
Our Family Fun Night will be taking place on June 14. In January, a call for volunteers will be sent through School-Day. We are in need of at least 60 volunteers.
Communication from the office
Amy Humphrys (vice-principal) and Andrea Michelutti (principal) are looking to improve communication between parents, the community and the main office at Jean Steckle Public School. This survey is about the communication from “the office” and not from classroom teachers.

Let’s go STING!
Our boys Grade 7/8 volleyball team will be playing their Quarter Final game against Linwood on Monday at 4:00 p.m. in our school gymnasium. This game will be played using the full centre court and we encourage staff, students and families to come cheer our team on!
Litterless Lunch – Friday, December 1
The students in Grade 4 are challenging the entire school to have a litterless lunch on Friday. Special posters have been displayed around the school and students will be making announcements to promote this important event.
