Weekly update – November 23

Dear families,

What a great assembly! Our kindergarten students taught us about teamwork, sang us a song, and leading the whole school in a dance. We celebrated over 100 students with ribbons and certificates who demonstrated teamwork in their classroom. Thank you to all of the educators who made this assembly a great success.

We are excited to share that our students will be performing Mary Poppins in the spring. More information will be shared regarding auditions and the different roles needed for the musical on the announcements.

Thank you for making our school a great place to learn and grow!

Super Seasonal Sale

Mrs. Austin’s 5B class and Mrs. Baker’s 8C class is hosting a Super Seasonal Sale. The sale will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018. It’s a perfect way for kids to go shopping for presents they want to give to their families and friends!

Donating used items will keep them out of the landfill. We hope that students can catch the spirit of giving by re-gifting, re-using, recycling and knowing it feels better to give than to receive. It’s a great time of year to clean out your house! We are seeking gently used toys and household items (e.g., books, toys, stuffed animals, baby toys, candles, purses, bags, ties, movies, serving platters, video games rated C or E,). We are also asking for wrapping paper, lots of gift bags, tape, ribbons, bows, and name tags. We will be collecting items the week of Dec. 3rd. Please start collecting items at home now.

Students will shop for gifts for family members and be proud to bring home a wrapped gift which they picked out!  Items will be priced from $0.25 to $3. It’s a fun day! All proceeds will go to Sunbeam Lodge, a place in our community that supports children with medical issues. All leftover items will be donated to a local second-hand store.

Please bring in as many items as you can. Please drop them off in Mrs. Austin’s room or your child’s classroom.  It will make a difference in people’s lives!

Volleyball Update

Quarterfinals for our volleyball teams begin next week. The girl’s team will be travelling to Floradale P.S on Monday and the boy’s team will be hosting their game on Tuesday against Groh P.S. Good luck to both teams. Go Sting!
