Dear Jean Steckle families,

Thank you for another amazing week! A special thank you to our students and staff who participated in our virtual Remembrance Day service. I am very proud of their hard work.

We appreciate your support in maintaining a safe learning environment for our students. Here are a few reminders during the morning entry routine:

  • All students and adults are asked to wear a mask when on school property
  • Students need to maintain a 1m/3feet distance from their friends when they are in the designated lines
  • Please try to come to school as close to 8:30 am as possible and head to your child’s class location right away
  • Students are asked to stand on their designated dot in their location
  • The time before school is not for play or connecting with other students in different cohorts

Sincerely,

Andrea Michelutti, Principal

JST Trailblazers

We are excited to announce a new program for students in Grade 4 to Grade 6 who walk to school – JST Trailblazers! Trailblazers are students who model excellent road safety skills for other students along travel routes that other students are using to help when needed. Their bright vests make drivers more aware of all walkers. Trailblazers learn about road safety, preferred routes, walking hazards, and first aid. If your child is interested in becoming a JST Trailblazer, please fill out this form.

Professional Development Day – November 23

IMPORTANT: Monday, November 23, is a PD Day for all our elementary and secondary schools.

Safe Walk to School Committee

We are looking for parents to help our school design a safe route to come to school. Through support from the Student Transportation Services of Waterloo, we are looking for parents who walk their children and parents who drive their children to be part of the committee. If you are interested in helping out, please email andrea_michelutti@wrdsb.ca.

COVID-19 Screening

Safety is a shared responsibility between the school, the home and the community, and families play a critical role in limiting the spread of COVID-19. We remind parents/guardians, students and staff, that they must screen for COVID-19 as part of their morning routine.

Please use COVID-19 Screening before school each day.
