Dear Jean Steckle families,

What an exciting week at Jean Steckle PS! Our students were busy completing their school work with their teachers. Ask your children about the “Our Hives” videos. The Grade 6 students along with Mrs. Innes have created videos showcasing the students and educators at each grade level. So far we have seen videos from Grade 3 to Grade 6. Thank you to our Grade 6 students for the awesome work to help us stay connected and stay safe.

I am excited to share that our Trailblazers have been trained and will be wearing their brand new vests beginning today. Please be sure to say hello to our trailblazers as you walk to and from school 🙂

Stay safe,

Andrea Michelutti, Principal

Please submit all entries with your child’s name by December 17 at 7pm and small prizes will be distributed at school on Friday, December 18.

News from the Huron Community Association – Food Drive

The Huron Community Association food drive is taking place on December 13 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm in front of Parkvale Park. The food drive will help the Kitchener Waterloo Food Bank (www.thefoodbank.ca). The most needed items do tend to change but are available at https://www.thefoodbank.ca/get-involved/most-needed/

Food drop-offs can take place anytime during those hours. There will be tables and bins for the donations, and the Huron Community Association will staff it.

The Huron Community Association is planning to have that be the “light up the Huron Hood” light walk evening as well. Everyone is encouraged to have encouraged everyone to decorate their homes with lights.

COVID-19 Information

Safety is a shared responsibility between the school, the home and the community, and families play a critical role in limiting the spread of COVID-19.

Please review the Resource for Parents – Know when to self-monitor, self-isolate or send your child to school resource. This document will help you navigate situations you and your family may face during this time.

It is even more essential to use COVID-19 Screening before school each day to ensure our students and staff remain safe.
