Dear Jean Steckle families,

This week, Paul Davis supported our community by navigating social media and the internet. We had 99 families sign up for this challenging conversation. Here are a few key messages:

  • technology should never be in a child’s bedroom
  • Social media platforms have a minimum age of 13
  • Nothing is private online. That all social media are owned and operated by companies who have access to the information
  • Delete = myth. Nothing is completely deleted. Everything is in the “cloud” and can be traced.

Understanding social media and its implications can be challenging. If you have any questions, please reach out to me.

Have a great weekend,

Andrea Michelutti, Principal

WRDSB to remain closed to in-person learning

The Ministry of Education, in consultation with local Public Health has informed the WRDSB that we will remain closed until at least February 10th pending further information. For clarity, the earliest the WRDSB will be able to welcome students back to in-person learning is Thursday, February 11, 2021. Ministry of Education and Public Health officials are responsible for making this decision. As always, the WRDSB is committed to providing the very best possible education for its students and to supporting students, families, and staff during these very difficult times.
