Dear families,
Thank you for a great first week back. I would like to remind parents to call the attendance line if they know their child is going to be late or absent. Please call our attendance line at 519-570-8018 ext 3943#. With almost 900 students, the secretaries are no longer able to accept late or absence calls so it is imperative the parents phone the attendance line.
When there are bus cancellations due to severe weather, all field trips are automatically canceled as there are no busses available. We understand your disappointment, but those situations are not in the school’s control.

Office Hours
The office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Student Safety
We have had several calls concerning student safety before and after school. We are reminding parents and students to be safe when they cross the street. Families should be using the crosswalk when coming to school. Jean Steckle is designated a walking school, and we encourage all students to walk to school.
To help ensure the safety of our crossing guards, students, and other pedestrians, motorists are reminded to take special care while driving and to follow these safety reminders:
- Be observant of children when in a school area and be ready to stop at all times
- Be patient and wait for children to complete their crossing before proceeding
- Reduce speed in school zones
- Stop when a stop paddle is held up by a crossing guard
- Be mindful of children walking around your vehicle and of other vehicles
- Never text while driving
Community Information – KW Minor Boys Softball Association
The KW Twins Minor Boys Softball Association are looking for boys born between 1999 and 2006 to play softball this year. If you are interested, please contact Luvalot1306@gmail.com for more information. Tryouts begin on January 13.
