Dear families,

Thank you to our families who’ve signed up for School-Day. Parents have been able to purchase pizza, sign and pay for field trip forms, We have a 93% adoption rate from our families and we are hoping to have more families on School-Day in the next few weeks. If you need assistance signing up for School-Day, please contact the office.

Picture Day – October 28

On Friday, all of our students will be having their individual and class pictures taken. We encourage all students to come to school on this day so they are part of the class photo. If your child’s class is going on a field trip, his or her class will have their pictures taken first.

Move-a-thon – October 31

On October 31, all of the students will be participating in our annual move-a-thon. Pledge envelopes were sent home last Wednesday. We are hoping to raise a minimum of $12,000 for this event. If we raise enough money, this will be our only fundraising activity for the year. If every student raised $15, the school’s total would be over $13,000.

The money this year will be to purchase document cameras and projectors for all classrooms, science kits, French Immersion materials, kindergarten outdoor learning materials, and items to replenish the technology already at Jean Steckle. Our biggest expense this year is to purchase additional math manipulatives and tools to help our students improve their math fluency.

All forms need to be returned. If your family would like to donate on-line, they may do so at www.pledge.me. If you would like to make a donation to the school and receive a tax receipt, please visit https://www.wrdsb.ca/wefi/ and allocate the donation to Jean Steckle P.S.

On the day of the event, the Glow store will be open for students to purchase items. The items are priced between $2 to $5.

November 14 – Progress Reports will be sent home (Grade 1 to Grade 8)

November 28 – Kindergarten Vision Screening

November 30 – Dental Screening – Kindergarten and Grade 2
